Buddleia 'Buzz Sky Blue' - "Butterfly Bush"

A new dwarf form of the popular, deciduous shrub. It will display lovely spikes of fragrant, blue-coloured flowers in summer and early autumn that are very attractive to bees and butterflies. It is ideal for patio pots or at the front of a border. The height and spread will be no more than 1.2m (4ft) and should be pruned back to 3 or 4 buds from the base in spring. Removing faded flowers will prolong the flowering season. Place in reasonable soil in sun or semi-shade.

Planting:

If you are planting straight away soak the roots in a bucket of water for half an hour beforehand. If you are unable to plant it immediately stand it upright somewhere sheltered until you are ready, making sure the root ball is kept moist. Make the hole for planting plenty big enough to accommodate all the roots easily. Incorporate compost and general fertilizer or bone meal into the soil before backfilling. Firm in and water well to settle the soil around the roots. We do not recommend digging a hole before the shrub arrives - it should be done at the time of planting. During the first growing season, keep well watered in any dry spells.
